The EDU has 4 pitted roads capable of berthing up to 4 20/23 metre vehicles. This workshop is well provided with overhead cranes lifting up to 30 tonnes. The EDU also houses an extensive stores facility to support Network Rail’s IM and rail-grinding fleets.

The Vehicle Workshop is configured as a heavy overhaul and repair facility and can accomodate up to 5 vehicles. Overhead cranes in this shop provide lifting up to 50 tonnes. The Vehicles Workshop also accomodates bogie overhaul, power unit repair. Kelvin workshop is a 14K square feet of versatile workshop consisting of 3 Roads with overhead cranes capable of lifting 30 tonnes.

The RTC Yard provides berthing for up to 64 vehicles together with refuelling and exterior/underframe cleaning facilities.

RVEL also manages Network Rail’s Coleham Maintenance Depot at Shrewsbury in support of the Cambrian line ERTMS project.
